Snot, Scrapes, and Seizures...
Crazy dogs. Lucy (miss snot nose herself) caught a cold from Joey's new puppy, Zane. So, bless her heart, she's even more slobbery and snotty than usual. I made an appointment for her yesterday, but unfortunately had to re-schedule because Brian and I were called in to the doctors office after informing them that I have been having sharp abdominal pains all day long. (Turns out they think it's muscle fatigue from carrying so low, but I'm fine)
Lucy, on the other hand, has a cold AND mange!!! Yes, that's right, hereditary mange (from her mother) that is luckily NOT contagious; so the boys are safe. I received that news from Brian this morning and was told the vet sent home some medications and all should be well.
I went home for lunch and as I'm sitting on the couch, Stanley comes walking around the corner of the couch, high-stepping with all four feet, like something is biting him. His eyes were huge, he was shaking, and all the sudden he fell over onto his side...he was having a seizure! Needless to say, I FLIPPED OUT!!! After trying 3 different vet offices (that are closer to us than our vet who is across town), I finally found some one to see him by which time he was completely fine and excited to see people. I've never been so scared in my life...poor guy. I was hysterical calling people trying to get him somewhere. It broke my heart to see his face. His eyes were huge and he was looking at me, almost pleading for help, and there wasn't anything I could do. Thankfully he was ok.
To top the night off, when I got home from work I went to dish out medications for Lucy and Stan only to find out that the vet tech didn't screw the lid on the drops for Lucy which completely leaked out of the bottle and into the other medications so that all of it was comtaminated! It was about $75 worth of medication ruined. Luckily we have a wonderful vet who was more than understanding and has refilled the perscriptions for us to go back and pick up...unfortuantely, that means another trip across town (most likely instead of lunch one day) :o)
At the end of the day though, everyone is ok and God is still with us...so there IS that to be thankful for.

30 Weeks...
...and I thought last week was hectic.
This week has definitely been worse...but at least its getting better (as of today).
One of the major issues being work. Lots of stuff going on that I can't control and it's stressing me out to the point that for about 5 days I was waking up at 1:00AM and staying awake until 4:00 or 5:00, sometimes until it was time for work again. Aside from losing sleep, the stress was causing contractions and the worst indigestion I've ever had. Then as a topper to it all, the A/C went out at the office last Wednesday night, so Thursday until yesterday (Wed.) we had no A/C and I had to work through the weekend...it was hot, tiring, and all-in-all, very unpleasant. I'm hoping to one day look back on all of this and either shrug my shoulders or laugh-remembering what a crisis it seemed like at the time, but in the scheme of things how minor it really was.
Anyway, so the pregnancy...I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and all is well with Maddie, she's healthy and moving around A LOT. I only gained one pound in the last two weeks (probably because I sweat it all out) :o) so at least the heat was good for something. The due date's really racing up on us and there are so many things I still need to do. Going kind of crazy with it all, wondering why I didn't think to do some of it at an earlier time (like guest lists for the shower...that could have been done at anytime, but I wait until the invitations need to be sent out before even starting). Ugh!
Anyway, I know it will all work out, and things will fall into place. God has us, but it sure is hard to let go on some of these issues.
On a side note: my belly is getting so ridiculously huge that at times I'm having trouble breathing and it's getting to be a real chore to carry this extra weight around with me. While I'm no where near ready for Maddie to be here, I'm SO ready for Maddie to be here :o)

Lucy vs. The Towel
We didn't realize how much Lucy loves having a new towel in her "room." Brian left her without one all day and when we put the new one down that night, this was her reaction. Guess its like a security blanket.
Side note: I'm not sure why Brian's videos come out sideways, but I don't know how to turn them.

29 Weeks...
...and a hectic one it's been. Can't believe I only have 11 weeks left...CRAZY. On the one hand it seems as though my pregnancy has gone by really quickly, on the other, if I look back, it seems like I've been pregnant For-EVER. Weird.
Great news...Brian and I think we found a house! We should be moving out of the ghetto and into a safe, family oriented neighborhood before Maddie comes. We'll be moving (hopefully) to Cedar Park into a rental house. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, big backyard, quiet neighborhood. I'm really looking forward to it. We think this is where God has led us. Any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated in the matter, as we're still trying to figure out if it's the right move for us.

Well, that's new...
...So I'm driving down the road, running an errand for work, when it hits me that I'm hungry. I mean, I'm really hungry. I went from completely fine to STARVING in about 15 seconds. Then, instead of the normal thoughts "well, it's almost lunch, I'll eat in a bit;" I panicked. I'm talking a full-on panic attack...hot flashes, dizzy spell, on the verge of tears. I had to pull over and eat a granola bar that I had in my purse.
What the hell was that? I didn't sign up for this kind of craziness! :o)

Ice Skating...
This weekend we had Audie with us and decided that ice skating would be a good idea. I couldn't skate (unfortunately) because I'm pregnant, so we took Uncle Joey along for the trip. Let me tell you, if you've never had the opportunity to watch a grown man (or two, in this case) put on skates and step onto the ice for the first time...I highly suggest it. It was hilarious!!!
At one point, Brian, tired of being shown up by the 10 yr olds, decided to try balancing on one skate (which we all know, isn't a good idea). So he picks his leg up, kicks Audie, who has skated up behind him, knocking her to the ground; spins to see if she's ok which causes him to bump into Joey, knocking him to the ground; then loses his balance and falls on top of Joey. Unfortunately, this was NOT caught on camera...but his first fall was. Enjoy...I know I did. :o)

3rd Trimester...
Holy Crap...there's a baby in there. I thought for the 3rd Trimester I should include an actual belly photo for all to see.
Can you believe that? And I still have 3 months (12 weeks) to go!!! According to what I've read, her eyes are open now and she's pretty much fully developed, now she just has to put on weight. So if she's gaining .5 lb each week how much am I gaining??? Uh-oh...Lane Bryant here I come :o)

Memorial Day Weekend...
What a great (if tiring) weekend. My mom and both my brothers, their respective wives and my niece all came into town over the weekend to visit and play. We had a blast.
On Saturday, Brian went to visit Lane for his birthday while my mom, Lindsay, Adam, and I visited shops on South Congress, snapping fun pictures and having a ball. On Sunday we made a trip to Zilker Park to ride the train and play on the jungle gym...Addison has NO FEAR! In one of the videos she almost plops right off the side of a slide. She was jumping, falling, running, and never protested. We also took her out in a canoe on Town Lake for a few minutes where she had a great time "cooling off" her mom by pouring freezing lake water down her legs.
Sunday night we were all able to get together for dinner at County Line, with the added bonus of Joey, Debbie, and Doug (whom we finally got the chance to meet). It was great having everyone together.
My only wish is that we had more time together. Thank you God for the love and closeness of family. :o)
